Unique baby names?

There have been 104 girls born in Georgia since 1990 named “Unique”.
5,507 female Abigails (and three boys!)
1,328 female Claires (and three boys!)
6,771 male Benjamins (and three girls!)
And then there are these:
Deeply Inappropriate Names:
1 girl named Penisha
1 girl named Insashable
14 girls named Lolita (I’m sorry, but Nabakov killed that name forever and it should be banned)

Weird Endorsement…

Check out this news story about an endorsement Hillary Clinton picked up:
She was followed by Richland County Councilwoman Bernice Scott, who bluntly told the audience “this race is not about race or gender.”
Scott said the decision should come down to which candidate can “feedMyers starsky and get real ringtones ringtone. the sheep.”
“Sen. Clinton has a [...]

Truth is Stranger than a Bad Soap Opera…

Interesting story:
All of Taiwan’s newspapers on Tuesday reported how Tran Thi Kham, 40, was recently reunited with her father Tsai Han-chao, 77, who could hardly believe what had happened: ‘I can only say: This is fate.’
The story goes back to 1967 when Tsai, then a 36-year-old businessman, took a business trip to Hong Kong and [...]

Neglect…

Sorry for the lack of updates. We’re currently working on getting the new house ready to move in, then we’ll be moving, then we’ll be getting the old house ready for sale. I’m thinking updates will be few and far between until February.

Parking Meters…

Apparently, they’re being stolen from downtown Atlanta at an alarming rate, with 500 missing this year alone. However, the police don’t care, and they’re not investigating.
Although the meters don’t contain much money, it costs about $500 to replace each one.
Despite the thefts, little is being done to catch the thieves because city officials do [...]

We bought a house…

in East Cobb. I love Home Park, but the crime issue just made it too hard to overlook some of the other smaller problems that otherwise I’d have been happy to deal with. Now we have more space, a much, much bigger yard, great schools, and a very quiet street. Not sure when we’ll get [...]

Construction Noise…

I remember all the construction noise we experienced back when we lived near Piedmont Park, and it can definitely be annoying. This, however, is not the right approach to the problem. Good grief. You know, in the current market I’d welcome a little construction noise. Poor folks in Miami wish the builders would get back [...]

I have a cold…

Or the flu. Or something miserable, I don’t know. But it’s like the 4th time this year and I’m sick of being sick. It turns out my problem is probably that I don’t drink enough. I keep trying to drink more, but it’s hard to be health concious!

Real Genius…

He was decent in “The Doors”, but Val Kilmer has never quite been as brilliant as he was in “Real Genius”, in my opinion. And now, there’s going to be a sequel, and Val Kilmer is on board. This should be fun!
